PARENTING FOR PEACE

Zimmerman Community Center

816 NW Hoyt St, Portland, Oregon 97209

Friday, Nov.9th    7pm-9:30pm

What dreams do we have for our children?

What qualities of heart and mind would we like them to embrace as adults?

As parents how can we help them to grow in these ways?

We will explore these questions and more in our monthly sessions -- Nov.9, Dec.7 and Jan.11.

During our time together we will have an opportunity to share our stories and resources as we build a community of support for one another.

Session 1

What are the values and ways of being that we want our children to embody as adults?

How are we helping to instill these values and where do we need help?

Session 2

We will share resources and explore a variety of simple family rituals and practices that can help us to honor the unique spirits of our children and instill the values we hold deeply.

Session 3

We will explore self-care practices to help us cultivate peace in our own lives as we grow as parents.

Beth Ann Estock will facilitate this learning adventure.  She is a mother of two high-spirited daughters and directs a variety of family camps at Wallowa Lake.  She is an ordained United Methodist Minister and a retreat leader.
